Post 10b: Production Progress

Due to our class critique, I have decided to update my story to display a greater challenge and draw out my characters personality. My premise and concept are still the same, as well as the color sheets. My new synopsis and storyboards are displayed below, and I have also added my final character design.

Synopsis: The story opens with a hunter walking up to the entrance of a cave that is located in a forest. The hunter's stomach growls, and he looks up at the cave. The cave looks very dark and spooky. The hunter proceeds to back up slowly in a scared manner. He decides to set a trap and wait for what's inside the cave to come out. He sets it runs behind a nearby rock to sleep. He ends up falling asleep for a short period of time. When he awakes, the hunter looks at his trap. Nothing has be caught. The hunter sighs and looks at the cave again. It shows the same shot of the entrance of the cave, still dark and scary. The hunter looks scared again. By this time we realize the hunter is afraid of the dark. The hunter's stomach growls once more, and he then decided he must go in. He finds two nearby sticks and rubs them together, catching one on fire. He enters the cave, holding his torch. He walks slow at first, shaking a bit. As he progresses further, he understands there is nothing to fear since he has his light. He begins to move normal, looking very happy. He then reaches the end of the cave, which is allowing some sunlight in. He pulls out his gun, aiming it towards a creature. The audience is then shown the creature he is pointing the gun at: A rabbit and her two little babies. After a long pause, the hunter lowers his weapon, and walks out of the cave.

Post 10a: Final Story Idea

Character Animation Short Story

Concept: A hunter tracks a beast through a forest.

Premise: The audience doesn’t know what the beast is.

Synopsis: The film opens with the hunter walking through the forest. He then comes     across footprints on the ground, which he bends down to take a look. The hunter begins moving faster, following the footprints. After a while, he comes across trees with scratch marks on them. He compares the scratch marks to ones on his left arm. They are the same. He continues to follow the trail, until it leaves the cave. He notices rocks crumbling near the entrance. He decides to go in, and as he does, rocks fall down and block the way out. He proceeds through the cave and finds the beast. The audience finds out that it is only a small rabbit. The hunter looks at the rabbit, pauses to build tension, and shoots the rabbit. The film then ends.

Post 8: Character Design

This is the character for my Project 2 animation. His name is Mr. Meowingston, or Mr. M for short. He is a rich business cat, dealing in highly criminal activities in the underground catnip market. He is dressed very well with his suit and dress shoes. A few years back,  Mr. M suffered a horrible facial accident during one of his business transactions. This left the right side of his face destroyed. Mr. M proceeded to hire a very well known doctor to have a metal plate inserted to cover the damage. His vision in his right eye was also destroyed, so Mr. M is now equipped with a laser eye used for vision and weaponry. Personality wise, Mr. M is a very emotional individual. He knows what he wants, and is out to take it. He likes to joke around at times, but when it comes to business, don't take him lightly. He is easy to anger, to excite, and to sadden. Sometimes he lets his emotions get the best of him, in which case its best to steer clear.
